KR, a 17-year-old juvenile, was charged and indicted for the offence of Aggravated Defilement on 3rd
October 2023. Initially, he was remanded to Gulu Adult Prison, where he spent 17 days. Following
the intervention of the FCU, he was appropriately transferred to Gulu Remand Home.
At the commencement of his trial, KR pleaded guilty to the offence. While the court took into account
the rights violations he had endured during the process, it also remained mindful of the age and
vulnerability of the victim. Consequently, the Juvenile Offender was sentenced to a five-month
detention order.
Through continuous support and monitoring, his case was expeditiously handled and concluded
within the legally prescribed 12-month period.
